Attachment C <br />Section I Personal Protective Equipment <br />AEL Ref No Title /Description <br />SHSPI L£TPP .MMRS E.MPG <br />UASI <br />1.0 NOTES TO APPLICANTS <br />k .r❑ ❑d ❑ Changes to Personal Protective Equipment Section <br />Following the lead of the Interagency Board for Equipment Standardization <br />and Interoperability (IAB), and in accordance with Homeland Security <br />Presidential Directive (HSPD) 8, the FY2005 AEL defines eligible personal <br />protective equipment in terms of nationally- recognized standards. These <br />standards require third -party certification of products; products may not claim <br />compliance with them unless fully certified by an independent third party in <br />accordance with the standard. Further information regarding this transition is <br />available in a short paper authored by the IAB's Personal Protective and <br />Operational Equipment Subgroup. This paper is available on the Responder <br />Knowledge Base (www.rkb.mipt.org) by locating any item in Section 1 of the <br />AEL and referring to the Mission Critical Hint on the right side of the display <br />screen. <br />(1.1) Respiratory Protection Equipment <br />(11.1) CBRNSelf- Contained Breathing Apparatus, Open-Circuit <br />Fall 2004 <br />SEL Ref Number <br />1.1.1.1 SCBA, CBRN OIAR -01 -SCBA <br />[] [] U ❑ CBRN SCBA - Self- Contained Breathing Apparatus certified as compliant <br />with NFPA 1981 and certified by NIOSH as compliant with the CBRN SCBA <br />approval criteria.
