Children's <br />Therapeutic Arts Center to the Santa Ana Workfor e Investment Board. <br />WORKFORCE INVESMENT BOARD RECOMMENDATION <br />Recommended that the City Council appoint Dr. Jimenez-Hami, Founder and <br />Executive Director, of the O.C. Children's Thera eutic Arts Center to the <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board as a public sector member <br />representative filling the Youth Community Based eat. <br />By a vote of 18:0 (Chapman, Conrad, Didion, Kand~, Meza, Oakes, Quarles, <br />Simon, Wadhera, Ward, Zarate, Zarate-Cervantes absent) at its Regular <br />Meeting of July 14, 2006. <br />On March 6, 2000, the City Council adopted a res lution establishing the <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board and app inted 35 members. In <br />accordance with the federal legislation, a major'ty of the Board and the <br />Board Chair must come from the private sector. he remaining Board seats <br />represent education, non-profit organizations, o e-stop mandated partners <br />and local labor organizations. <br />Currently there are two mandated private sector <br />development organization, one community based or <br />vacancy seat on the Board. After an extensive <br />interview process, the WIB is recommending this c <br />to the Board. <br />vacancies, one economic <br />~anization and one labor <br />recruitment campaign and <br />andidate for appointment <br />13B-1 <br />
