Under the City's Memorandum Of Understanding with the employee <br />associations, the City agrees to provide up to $200 per fiscal year, per <br />applicable employee, for approved purchases of safety shoes and boots. In <br />order to provide employees the widest possible selection that would be <br />conducive to job requirements, the City recommends contracts with four <br />different vendors. As such, the recommended action will allow the <br />employees to purchase steel toe safety footwear to comply with the City's <br />safety shoe regulation. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on May 31 and June 2, 2006, and <br />bids were solicited.
