PROJECT UNDERSTANDING City of Santa Ana 7erome Center Renovation ILLIS ASSOCLAIT ARCHITECTS, 11 The City of Santa Ana is seeking to renovate the Jerome community center. We are experts in this type work, and we hope to be considered your architects for this project. We are inspired by the vision generated by the City of Santa Ana — "Education First." As a result, G&A wil solicit Community Members' ideas in order to derive the concept drawings directly from the facility's users. We understand this project will include the following elements: - Re -roofing the existing building. - Installation of an HVAC system and fire alarm system, renovation of existing electrical services and fixtures throughout the facility. - Interior painting and ADA compliance throughout the facility. - Renovation of the existing restrooms and showers for ADA compliance and general improvements. - Renovation of the Game Room including new acoustic ceiling, carpet flooring, and windows. - Renovation of the Multi -Purpose Room including new wood flooring, acoustic ceilings, new cabinets and ballet bars and mirrors. - Renovation of the kitchen including new tile, plumbing, and linoleum flooring. - Renovation of the Arts and Crafts Room including new linoleum flooring, cabinets, acoustic ceiling, and windows. - Renovation of Ceramic Room including new windows, acoustic ceiling, carpet flooring, and new interior walls, doors, and frames. - Entry Hall improvements including interior wall construction, acoustic ceiling, lath and stucco, exit door and hardware, and carpet flooring l� fivers , ^/ -, --«C_ � C, C, • We will make deliberate efforts to include the Santa Ana Community in the design of this facility. As result, the Jerome Community center will be created as a direct result of community input. • We understand the City of Santa Ana wishes to renew the Community by creating a neighborhoc atmosphere with improved safety and sustainability. The City's vision includes a user -friend environment where citizens display a sense of public pride. • We believe that buildings are machines for doing work, and should be works of art. The form of theE artful machines begins to take shape when the community, the owner, and the architect work togethl to synthesize their thoughts and opinions. • Our design group works together as a team.
