CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Garcia <br />. Thanked Parks and Recreation staff for bike trails' improvements, <br />. Hoped that everyone had a great Labor Day, <br /> <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />. Reported that the City received a California Grant for a new zoo <br />exhibit. Thanked staff for their work in receiving the grant. <br />. Reported an upcoming Grand Opening on the Digital Media Center on <br />S. Bristol Street on Wednesday, September 6,2006, <br />. Asked the mayor to adjourn meeting in honor of Jason Bond, <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy <br />. Reported that the City of Huntington Beach thanked Police and Fire <br />staff for administering funds received from the Urban Area Security <br />Initiative, <br />. Reported that the police officers are enforcing night-time permit <br />parking, <br />. Asked Gerardo Mouet, Director of the Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Agency to report on the current status of the <br />Youth Expo; and further added that the event will be held on Sunday, <br />October 8th <br /> <br />Mavor Pro Tem Bist <br />. Thanked the Public Works Agency staff for obtaining grant funds that <br />enhance the bike trail with trees on Flower Street. <br />. Announced that there is a new Artist Loft business called Flower Loft. <br /> <br />Councilmember Alvarez <br />. Asked staff to review history of the developer for Item 75,C, and <br />potential loopholes that may have occurred with Logan Neighborhood, <br />. Asked staff to refrain from attaching Santa Ana zoo animals with <br />university mascots, <br />.
