REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 18, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />ACCEPT DONATION OF CAMERA, <br />PRINTER AND SCANNER <br />~~ ~~~~ <br />CI MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1u Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing Far <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the acceptance of a digital camera, a printer and a scanner from <br />the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Canon U.S.A., Inc. recognizes the importance of law enforcement agencies <br />for having the necessary equipment and technology available to conduct <br />effective investigations concerning missing and abducted children. Canon <br />U.S.A., Inc., in partnership with NCMEC, is providing this equipment to <br />assist in bringing missing and abducted children safely back to their <br />parents and guardians. Items donated will enable the Department to take, <br />print, and scan digital pictures for use in our investigations related to <br />missing and abducted children. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Paul M.
