These <br />standards require third-party certification of products; products may not claim compliance with them unless <br />fully certified by an independent third party in accordance with the standard. The Personal Protective and <br />Operational Equipment SubGroup of the InterAgency Board for Equipment Standardization and <br />Interoperability has authored a short paper on the responder community's transition to standards-based <br />specification.
