(2) All materials or wastes which might cause fumes or dust, or which constitute a <br />fire hazard. or which may be edible by or otherwise be attractive to rodents or <br />insects shall be stored outdoors only in closed containers. <br />(q) Hazardous Materials <br />(1) Land or buildings shall not be used or occupied in any manner so as to create <br />any fire, explosive or other hazard. All activities involving the use or storage of <br />combustible, explosive, caustic, or otherwise hazardous materials shall comply <br />with all applicable local, State, and Federal safety standards and shall be <br />provided with adequate safety devices against the hazard of fire and explosion, <br />and adequate firefighting and fire suppression equipment in compliance with <br />City of Santa Ana regulations. The burning of waste materials in open fires <br />without written approval of the Fire Department is prohibited. <br />(2) No activities shall be permitted which emit dangerous radioactivity at any point <br />nor shall electrical disturbances which adversely affect the operation of any <br />eauipment. other than that of the creator of such disturbances. be allowed. <br />(3) No use, activity or process shall cause electromagnetic interference with <br />normal radio and television reception, or with the function of other electronic <br />equipment beyond the property line of the site in which it is situated. All uses, <br />activities and processes shall comply with applicable Federal Communications <br />Commission regulations. <br />h) Liauid and Solid Waste <br />(1) Liquid or solid wastes discharged from the premises shall be properly treated <br />prior to discharge so as not to contaminate or pollute any watercourse or <br />groundwater supply or interfere with bacterial processes in sewage treatment. <br />(2) The disposal or dumping of solid wastes, such as slag, paper and fiber wastes, <br />or other industrial wastes, is prohibited. <br />(3) Wastes shall be handled and stored so as to prevent nuisances, health, safety, <br />and fire hazards, and to facilitate recycling subject to the review and oversight <br />of the Fire Department. Closed containers shall be provided and used for the <br />storage of any materials which by their nature are combustible, volatile, dust, <br />or odor oroducina or edible or attractive to rodents. vermin. or insects. <br />(i) Site Maintenance. All industrial land uses shall be maintained in compliance with <br />T Chapter 16 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and not constitute public nuisances <br />as defined and addressed by Chapter 17 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code at all <br />times and consistent with oroiect conditions of approval (if applicable). <br />(0) Truck Parking and Loading <br />(1) All truck parking areas must be on paved surfaces. The parking, loading or <br />unloading of trucks associated with a business on public streets is prohibited. <br />Ordinance No. NS-XXX <br />Page 26 of 49 <br />
