{pia Phuong Tran

Santa Ana, CA, 92704
Date: March 9, 2025
The Honorable Valerie Amezcua
20 Civic Center, Plaza
Santa Ana, CA 92701
Dear Mayor,
My name is Gia Tran, and I live in Santa Ana, California. I am writing to talk about a big problem
in our city: pollution in low-income neighborhoods. Many people in these areas breathe dirty air and drink
unsafe water because factories, highways, and waste sites are placed near their homes. This is unfair, and
it is making people sick.
In many low-income areas of Santa Ana, the air is full of pollution from cars and factories.
Because of this, many children and older people suffer from asthma and other breathing problems.
Another big problern is dirty water. Old pipes and pollution from businesses make the water unsafe to
drink, and this harms families who cannot afford expensive battled water or filters.
I believe we can fix this problem. I suggest you support strongers laws to stop pollution in
neighborhoods where people live. We also need more money to fix old water pipes and keep our drinking
water -clean. Planting more trees and adding green spaces can also help make the air better. These changes
will help protect the health of thousands of people in our community.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I hope you will help make Santa Ana a cleaner
and safer place for everyone. I would love to hear your thoughts on this issue and what you can do to help
Sincerely,
