Visual inspections of the stations revealed water damage due to
roof and shower leaks at stations 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9. Subsequently,
repairs were performed on the roofs and showers of the identified stations,
which range in age between 17 to 56 years. When water damage has occurred
in a City facility, the City routinely contracts for an industrial hygiene
inspection. The inspection of the identified stations found fungal growth
(mold) and included recommendations for remediation. This contract will
provide for the removal of the existing mold, including any additional mold
discovered during the remediation process.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 14 and 16, 2007, and
bids were solicited.
