Award a contract to Paso Robles Tank, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$1,151,350 for the East and West Reservoir upgrades. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $1,459,100. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City's East and West Reservoirs are located at 1730 South Santa Fe <br />Street and 207 South Mountain View Street, respectively (Exhibit 1). <br />Both reservoirs are 6 million gallon above ground circular steel tanks <br />constructed in the 1960's. The exterior coating on both tanks has <br />deteriorated and needs to be replaced. In addition, both reservoirs <br />require safety upgrades and seismic retrofits to bring them into <br />compliance with current standards. To provide partial funding of these <br />improvements, the City has been awarded a grant from the United States <br />Environmental Protection Agency for an amount not to exceed $384,900. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 2 and 5, 2007, and bids <br />were opened on April 4, 2007.
