CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Recommended for approval by the Planning Commission on June 11, <br />2001 by a 5-0 vote (Cribb and Richardson absent) <br />Legal Notice published in the Orange County Register and mailed on July <br />20, 2001 <br />Presentation of staff report by Planning Manager Charlie View <br />Presentation of written communication by Clerk of the Council: None <br />Presentation by Marc Myers, representing the applicant, Sprint PCS <br />Florence Leach spoke in opposition to this project; the public hearing was <br />closed <br />Applicant: Sprint PCS <br />Following the public hearing on this matter, Council discussion ensued. <br />Councilmember Bist noted that the proposed mono -pole is located <br />approximately 68 feet north of the multi -family development on Central and <br />this is not consistent with the City's siting guideline of 140 feet. She further <br />noted that this distance represents more that a 50% variance from the <br />guideline and that she could not support approval of the Conditional Use <br />Permit. Councilmember Solorio asked the Sprint representative if other <br />sites were evaluated. Councilmember Franklin suggested that future <br />Conditional Use Permits for this purpose include the requirement for <br />removal of obsolete equipment.
