PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Victoria Zaragoza invited Mayor Pulido and the Council to take a tour of <br />the elementary schools in Santa Ana. <br />Jeff Hamilton raised concerns about proposed plans for a high school on <br />the Armstrong Ranch property. <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Alvarez <br />• Thanked staff for their efforts in ensuring the success of the Black <br />History Parade held on February 2, 2002 <br />• Asked residents to support the Police and Fire Games hosted by Santa <br />Ana in June, 2002 <br />• Wished everyone a Happy Valentine's Day <br />Councilmember Christy <br />• Noted that the Black History Parade was very successful <br />• Asked Rip Ribble, Executive Director of the Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Agency to give an update on the Youth Expo <br />scheduled to be held on Saint Patrick's Day at the Santa Ana Stadium <br />Mayor Pro Tern McGuigan <br />• Announced that a public forum would be held at the Southwest Senior <br />Center at 6 P.M. on February 19, 2002 to hear comments relative to <br />cable television service in Santa Ana <br />• Asked the Council to adjourn in the memory of Joan Griset, sister of <br />Dan Griset and daughter of Loren Griset, both former Mayors of Santa <br />Ana. <br />Councilmember Bist <br />• Asked staff to review ways to educate the public relative to the process <br />for asking the City to replace the portion of a resident's sewer lateral <br />that lies within the public right of way <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />• Announced that the City was working with the Internal Revenue <br />Service, community based organizations, and Congresswoman Loretta <br />Sanchez's office to educate residents about the Earned Income Tax <br />Credit <br />• Noted that due in large part to the efforts of Mayor Pro Tern McGuigan, <br />l) the groundbreaking for the City's skate park was scheduled for <br />February 23'd at Centennial Park <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 49 FEBRUARY 4, 2002 <br />
