FOLLOWED BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY AT 7:32 P.M. <br />COUNCIL RECONVENED AT 7:32 WITH THE SAME COUNCILMEMBERS <br />PRESENT <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />There were no public comments <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Alvarez: <br />• Reminded residents that the Festival del Mariachi in honor of <br />Mothers is scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. to <br />9:00 p.m. at the Santa Ana Stadium, and encouraged all residents <br />to attend this special event <br />■ Announced that there would be a celebrity softball game held at the <br />women's softball field at California State University, Fullerton on <br />May 11th at 12:00 p.m. and the proceeds would benefit the 2002 <br />Police and Fire Games to be held June 16-22,2002 <br />Councilmember Christy: <br />■ Asked Jon Ribble, Executive Director, Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Agency to give an update on the safety of <br />Santa Ana Parks in view of recent alarming incidents (nails, razor <br />blades, etc) at parks in surrounding cities. Mr. Ribble informed the <br />Council and public that precautionary measures have been taken to <br />insure that the sand lots in all city parks are raked each morning <br />and rechecked in the afternoon.
