GENERAL BACKGROUND AND SCOPE OF SERVICES 1.1 Schedule of Pertinent Dates The following are the key dates relating to this Request for Proposal: Event Date Release of RFP 23 March 07 Proposer's Conference 02 April 07 Closing Date for Inquiries 06 April 07 Respond to all Questions 09 April 07 Proposal Submission 13 April 07 Submission to City Council May 07 Selection Notification May 07 Execution of Agreements May —June 07 1.2 Definitions The following words as used in this RFP shall be understood to refer respectively to: Word in RFP Definition "Agreement" Used synonymously with Contract to designate legal contract between the City of Santa Ana and a selected Vendor for temporary technical contract service personnel and /or consulting services. .City" The City of Santa Ana, California "Contract Service An employee /s of the Vendor who is assigned temporarily to the City to Personnel" erform designated services fora period of time (referred to as a CSP 'Contract' Used synonymously with Agreement to designate legal contract between the City of Santa Ana and a selected Vendor for temporary technical contract service personnel and /or consulting services. "Department" The several departments and agencies therein "Director" The executive directors of the several City departments and agencies or any of their properly authorized assistants " Payrolling" The situation where a candidate temporary person is identified by the City and is not a resource or a recruit of the Vendor. The separate payrolling percentage markup is applied in lieu of the regular agreed upon ercenta a marku p- 'Proposer" The person, firm or corporation who is responding to this Request For Proposal RFP "Vendor" The person, firm or corporation with whom the contract is made by said City or the agent or legal representative who may be appointed to represent such person, firm or corporation in the signing and performance of said contract March 2007 10
