The number of years that the Proposer has beers rn the business of providing <br />telephone system maintenance. (If company name or ownership has changed of the <br />period cited, please note and explain.) {ref. section 6.2.c} <br />NEC Corporation Inc. has been manufacturing and maintaining <br />telecommunicatiors systems since 1898. NEC Unified Solutions Inc, the direct <br />sales and maintenance arm of NEC Corporation Inc. has been maintaininy NEC <br />telecommunications systems in the United Stages since 1977. <br />NEC Unified Solutions, Inc. is comprised of the former businesses of: NEC <br />America -Corporate Networks Group (est,1977), NEC Business Network <br />Solutions (est. 1989); Active Voice (est. 1984); NEC Canada (est. 1986) and <br />Micro Computer Systems (MCS) (est. 1980). <br />5. A description of the overall qualifications of the Proposer and experience and <br />ability to provide Lelephone system maintenance far NEC-based telephone <br />infrastructure. <br />{ref. section 6.2.d} <br />NEC Unified Solutions Inc as the direct sale ar~d support arm of NEC <br />Corporation supports the largest NEC: installed base and employs the largest <br />number of experienced NEC technical professionals in the industry. <br />Serving as the central point of contact around the clock, the Customer Support <br />Center may dispatch a repair technician from one of the NEC Unified Solutions <br />service branches in the US, or assign the issue to the Technical Assistance <br />Center (TAC). TAC Engineers are armed with remote access capability to <br />quickly perform problem resolution, and also support field technicians with <br />technical assistance. In severe cases, Engineers will attempt to replicate the <br />customer's problem in one of the NEC Unified Solutions Multi-services Solutions <br />Labs. Equipped with the latest in voice, data, and integrated network <br />equipment, the labs focus on ir~teroperability of systems to detect possible <br />conflicts and provide resolution. <br />For additional security, NEC: systems are equipped with a Remote Monitoring <br />Unit (RMU) which can provide around the clack monitoring of the NEC PBX <br />system. -rhe RMU is programmed to contact the NEC Unified Solutions <br />Customer Support Center to report alarms within the Switch, as well as other <br />locations for additional levels of monitoring. This early warning system allows <br />NEC Unified Solutions to detect problems sometimes before the custorr;er is <br />aware of the issrae. <br />6. Identify and provide evidence of the Proposer's certification/authorizations to <br />provide telephone system maintenance for NEC systems/equipment identified in <br />section 4.0 of the RFP. <br />{ref. section 6.2.d} <br />Page 26 of 43 <br />
