DAILY TRIAGE OF MEDICAL REQUESTS <br />Daily triaging of medical requests is designed to ensure that inmates have <br />the ability to request medical attention on a daily basis. This function also <br />improves the delivery of health care services by ensuring that medical <br />problems are prioritized and handled in a medically appropriate and timely <br />manner. <br />All inmates (including those in segregation) will be able to request <br />medical services by utilizing the existing written request form (described <br />in the following section). Requests will be gathered, reviewed and triaged <br />by the nursing staff seven (7) days a week, including holidays. <br />Emergencies will be evaluated and treated immediately. Other requests <br />will be prioritized and referred to the appropriate provider as indicated. <br />Completed request forms will be placed in the inmate's medical record. <br />E.
