will be administered in liquid form to decrease the chance of inmates <br />"cheeking" medications. <br />All medications and supplies will be secured, accessible only to <br />designated staff, and administered solely by nursing personnel unless <br />directed otherwise by the prescribing physician. Prompt collection of <br />expired non-controlled medications, unused a medication remaining after <br />an inmate leaves the Jail, as well as timely disposal of all Class II, III, IV, <br />and V medications will be monitored by the NP and the pharmacist. <br />A licensed pharmacist will perform quarterly pharmacy audits to ensure <br />contract compliance, compliance with CAC Title 15 guidelines and state <br />and federal regulations. <br />G MEDICAL DIETS <br />As mandated by CAC Title 15, CMCMC's responsible physician will <br />review and approve all diet manuals to ensure that they incorporate the <br />four (4) basic food groups (based on the Manual of clinical Dietetics and <br />Manual of the American Dietetic Association) and accommodate special <br />therapeutic diets, the medical staff may, upon request due to religious <br />and/or personal preference, advise inmates who are on restricted diets on <br />how to meet their nutritional needs while incarcerated. (Non-medically <br />restricted diets must have the approval of the Santa Ana City Jail's <br />Administration). <br />The physician and/or other qualified providers will prescribe medical <br />diets, as indicated.
