REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 3, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />STATE FARM INSURANCE DONATION <br />CITY ANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1S` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Approve an Appropriation Adjustment accepting a $5,000 donation from the <br />State Farm Insurance Company into the Fire Department's Gift & Donation <br />account and appropriating the same into the Fire Department's Fire <br />Prevention, Other Material & Supplies account. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In October 2005, the State Farm Insurance Company donated $5,000 to the <br />Fire Department's Fire Prevention Bureau to purchase smoke detectors. <br />These smoke detectors are used in the Fire Education Unit and will be <br />given free to Santa Ana residents and used to educate residents about the <br />benefits of having a working smoke detector in their home. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Approval of the Appropriation Adjustment will increase the anticipated <br />revenues in the Fire - Gifts & Donation Account (account no. 011-01-579$- <br />320) by $5,000 and appropriate the same into the Fire Department's Fire <br />Prevention, Other Material & Supplies Account (account no. 011-321-6391). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />Marc Martin Francisco Gutierrez <br />Fire Chief executive Director <br />Fire Department Finance & Management Services Agency <br />20A-1 <br />
