REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 3, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />AMEND CONTRACT TO XONOVIA TECHNOLOGIES LLC <br />FOR ADDITIONAL CONSULTING AND ASSESSMENT <br />SERVICES OF THE CITY'S INFORMATION <br />TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to amend the agreement with Xonovia Technologies <br />LLC (Xonovia) for additional consulting services and assessment services <br />of the current information technology (IT) infrastructure, security <br />processes, and organizational structure for $48,000 to a total aggregate <br />amount not to exceed $223,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Xonovia was selected in October 2006, to conduct an assessment based on <br />the firm's experience and expertise in the industry. The firm conducted <br />an assessment of the core network and network security; servers and <br />server security; disaster preparedness and organizational structure. The <br />assessment was completed by selecting a sample set of sites of the City's <br />information technology infrastructure. Based on the observations/ <br />findings of the assessment, staff has determined additional consulting <br />services are needed to address the observations/findings and further <br />assessment services are needed. Xonovia will provide the additional <br />assessment services and work with staff to implement any changes to the <br />IT infrastructure for up to 480 hours at $100 per hour totaling $48,000. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Citywide Information Services Strategic Plan <br />Fund.
