REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 3, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />AMEND AGREEMENT WITH <br />MANAGEMENT SERVICES, <br />ADULT CROSSING GUARD <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />ALL CITY ^ As Amended <br />LLC FOR ^ Ordinance on 1S` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />PROGRAM ^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />CI ANAGE <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with All City <br />Management Services, Inc. for an additional one-year term in an annual <br />amount not to exceed $894,447. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On January 18, 2005, Council approved a one-year agreement with All City <br />Management Services, Inc. (ACMS} to staff the Adult Crossing Guard Program <br />per the requirements specified in a Request for Proposals. The original <br />agreement included provisions for two one-year renewal options and Council <br />approved the second renewal on March 5, 2007. The Adult Crossing Guard <br />program ensures safe pedestrian movement of children around elementary <br />schools within Santa Ana. <br />The Police Department`s evaluation over the past two years has determined <br />that ACMS has met all the requirements of the agreement. Staff recommends <br />amending the agreement for an additional one-year term as the consultant <br />has continued to perform satisfactorily during the previous agreement <br />periods. The amendment also includes the staffing of an additional <br />crossing guard at MacArthur Blvd. and Raitt Street near Greenville <br />Fundamental School at no additional cost; a service which would normally <br />cost the City approximately $10,000 annually. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Police Department's Traffic Division fund <br />(account no. 11-333-6291). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />-~, <br />~~ ~ \# <br />Paul M.
