NO. 08-022) <br />CITY~MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s1 Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Solorio, Inc. for painting services for a two-year <br />period with provision for two one-year renewals in the annual aggregate <br />amount not to exceed $75,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City establishes an annual blanket order list consisting of vendors <br />that provide supplies and services that are required by agencies on a <br />consistent basis. Painting services are required at times by all City <br />departments for the purposes of general maintenance, building <br />modifications, graffiti control, and renovation. The contract for painting <br />services will provide fixed pricing for painting services for all City <br />departments. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on May 13, 2008, and bids were <br />solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br />7 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />5 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />9 Bids received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br />Bids were received and opened on May 28, 2008 and evaluated (Exhibit 1). <br />The bid received from Solorio, Inc. is responsive to the specification and <br />meet the City's requirements. <br />22L-1 <br />
