Literacy (Reading and Writing) Assessments of grant participants will be <br />conducted through our Hosts Learner Link System and STAR Assessment. These <br />assessment tools are based on extensive research into theories and practices of <br />successful reading instruction. The strategies embedded in the program are <br />supported in scientifically based research and studies conducted over many years. <br />Qualitative measures consists of: a) paper and pencil STAR pre and post tests and b) <br />on-line Learner Link Reading Assessment. <br />2. Art and Literacy Portfolios will be collected to document the work of the students <br />and their progress across time. <br />3. Attendacne records will be collected and enrollment in other activities will be <br />tracked per student. <br />4.
