The City entered into an agreement with the planning consulting firm Moore, lacofano, <br />Goltsman, Inc. (MIG) in October of 2023 to assist with comprehensively updating and <br />modernizing all aspects of the City's Zoning Code. The update will also include retooling <br />and updating development practices and processes. From spring to fall of 2024, the City <br />of Santa Ana completed round one of community engagement, an integral part of the <br />City's Zoning Code Update process. Round 1 consisted of stakeholder interviews, a <br />Community Planning Collaborative training, six community workshops, and two business <br />community workshops. Through the outreach, the City made contact with over 30,000 <br />residents, property owners, and business owners. <br />Continued engagement with the community is planned, which will include two more <br />rounds of stakeholder workshops. During the second round of workshops, participants <br />will have the opportunity to review preliminary draft recommendations for new zoning <br />districts, permitted uses, standards, and application processes.
