Each agency <br />requires segregation of funds for auditing purposes. The City has set <br />these segregated funds in Fund 26, Criminal Activities, in which there are <br />five separate activities (26 -340, 26 -342, 26 -343, 26 -344, and 26 -345). <br />Federal guidelines for forfeitures forbid a local agency to appropriate <br />anticipated funds. This requires the Police Department to recognize and <br />appropriate revenues received during a fiscal year, independently of the <br />annual budget process. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will increase revenues in the <br />Criminal Activities Revenue Accounts (26 -01- various) and Criminal <br />Expenditure Accounts (26- various - various) by $1,345,597.74 <br />6LOt'a- <br />Paul M.
