<br />Deputy Director, Maintenance and Operations:
<br />• Provides tools and establishes processes that ensure regular maintenance
<br />and operations activities meet the safety and mobility needs of bicyclists,
<br />pedestrians, and transit users in construction and maintenance work zones,
<br />encroachment permit work, and system operations.
<br />• Ensures Department manuals, guidance, standards, and procedures reflee't
<br />this directive and identifies and explains the Department's objectives for
<br />multimodal travel.
<br />District Directors:
<br />• Promote partnerships with local, regional, and State agencies to plan and
<br />fund facilities for integrated multimodal travel and to meet the needs of a-ll
<br />travelers.
<br />• Identify bicycle and pedestrian coordinator(s) to serve as advisor(s) and
<br />external liaison(s) on issues that involve the district, local agencies, and
<br />stakeholders.
<br />• Ensure bicycle, pedestrian, and transit needs are identified in district
<br />system planning products; addressed during project initiation; and that
<br />projects are designed., constructed, operated, and maintained using current
<br />standards.
<br />• Ensure bicycle, pedestrian, and transit interests are appropriately
<br />represented on interdisciplinary planning and project delivery
<br />dcvclopment teams.
<br />Provide documentation to support decisions regarding bicycle, pedestrian,
<br />and transit modes in project initiation and scopina activities.
