The actual deployment of the deputies would be based <br />on the specific need. <br />Funding: <br />Total Allocation: $105,233 <br />PROACT Contribution: (10 %) $10,523.30 <br />Administrative Fee (9 %): $9,470.97 <br />Funds Retained by County: $85,239 <br />City: Aliso Viejo <br />The City of Aliso Viejo proposes to use the 2009 Justice Assistance Grant funding as <br />follows: <br />Project Objectives <br />Maintain community preservation against crime in highly visible areas during troubled <br />economic times. <br />• Equip a K -9 Narcotic Detection unit with patrol capabilities for increased <br />enforcement of drug activity. <br />The unit will be deployed at times and locations where the City has experienced an <br />increase in narcotic and drug related activity. The K -9 Narcotic Detection unit will be used <br />to augment police services already in place and enhance patrol efforts. The K -9 Narcotic <br />Detection unit will also be used to assist patrol deputies with search efforts for those <br />suspected of being in possession of narcotics or drugs. <br />Goal: <br />Reduce the number of reported incidents and arrest violators of drug sales, possession, use <br />of, and being under the influence of drugs.
