Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> tr~~ C~"" FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> 1. Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager and the Fire Chief to <br /> submit a grant application through the State of California for the <br /> U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2009 Emergency Management <br /> Performance Grant Program. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the <br /> attached sub-grantee agreement with Orange County Sheriff's Office in <br /> the amount of $25,140, subject to non-substantive changes approved by <br /> the City Manager and City Attorney. <br /> 3. Approve an Appropriation Adjustment recognizing the 2009 Emergency <br /> Management Performance Grant funds and appropriate the same into the <br /> 2009 Emergency Management Performance Grant expenditure account. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The State of California Office of Emergency Services is responsible for <br /> implementing the United States Department of Homeland Security's <br /> Emergency Management Performance Grant Program (EMPG) The funds cover <br /> salary costs for SAFD personnel attending various Operational Area <br /> Emergency Operation Center planning and training meetings, and <br /> <br /> miscellaneous equipment for the City's Emergency Operation Center. <br /> 55A-1 <br /> <br />
