CA 92701
Dear Bea,
This letter is to request a change in the contract regarding the seminar funds. Initially, the contract required that
8 seminars be given to a group of 30 each. I am proposing to replace the 3-hour seminars with 4-week intensive
courses and expand the 8-week courses to 10-weeks. By making these changes, I would then be able to offer
Hispanic business owners a more detailed and expansive program to fit their needs.
The reasons for these changes are:
After reviewing the surveys for the 3-hour seminars and 8-week courses, we learned that students
wanted seminars and courses to be more extensive on topics such as the following:
o Internet marketing
o Leadership development & communication
o Sales and customer service
o Cash flow and management
o Personal development and self-esteem
Funds for seminars could be used more efficiently with the intensive 4-week courses
Economic Impact information, regarding the retention and creation of jobs, expansion of the businesses
and loans obtained, would be facilitated for record keeping.
A better learning experience is achieved through constant interaction with trainer and continuous
exposure to complex business subjects.
Original contract program
Event Proposed
in contract Delivered In process Fundsleft
Seminars
p seminars 8 9
q participants 240 24
Cost $ 14,775 $ 1,477 $ 13,298

Course 8-week
q course 3 1 1
q participants 75 22 25
Cost $ 42,900 $ 12,163 $ 5,244 $ 25,493
Total Funds
available $ 38,790
