Strengthening Referral and Outreach Processes <br />• Increase veteran referrals to workforce services by streamlining <br />communication between Veteran Affairs, workforce agencies, and community <br />partners. <br />• Develop a structured referral system to ensure warm handoffs between veteran <br />service providers and AJCCs. <br />• Create visual guides, decision trees, or flowcharts to help veterans and service <br />providers navigate available resources and career pathways. <br />2. Expanding Workforce Training and Career Exploration <br />• Explore ways to increase job shadowing and informational interview <br />opportunities by strengthening employer relationships and industry <br />partnerships. <br />• Collaborate with partner organizations to develop strategies for connecting <br />veterans with peer mentors who can provide guidance, share experiences, and <br />support their transition into civilian careers. <br />3. Supporting Veterans with Employment Barriers <br />• Work with partners to develop strategies for enhancing workforce readiness <br />programs, incorporating soft skills training, financial literacy, and job retention <br />support to prepare veterans for long-term career success better. <br />• Leverage peer support specialists to provide mental health services alongside <br />workforce training, addressing barriers to long-term employment. <br />4. Enhancing Employer Engagement and Job Placement <br />• Expand employer outreach efforts to educate businesses on the value of hiring <br />veterans and the skills they bring to the workforce. <br />• Facilitate employer engagement initiatives such as veteran hiring events, <br />industry roundtables, and veteran-focused apprenticeship programs. <br />• Develop strategies to bridge the gap between veteran skills and employer <br />needs, ensuring better job matching and long-term career stability. <br />F.
