Access to Low Poverty Neighborhoods <br />The following analysis describes any disparities in exposure to poverty by protected class <br />groups. <br />Table 6 includes a Low Poverty Index, which measures the level of poverty in a <br />neighborhood. Higher index values indicate less exposure to poverty in a neighborhood. <br />Table 6 shows the following regarding disparities in access to low-poverty neighborhoods <br />in each of the participating jurisdictions: <br />• In the region, there are significant disparities in access to low-poverty <br />neighborhoods. Hispanic and Black residents have the least access, and White <br />residents have the most access. Individuals living below the FPL also have less <br />access to low-poverty neighborhoods, compared to the overall population. <br />• In the Orange County Urban County jurisdictions, access to low-poverty <br />neighborhoods is higher for all groups compared to the region, including for <br />individuals living below the FPL. However, there are significant disparities in access. <br />Hispanic residents have the least access.
