<br /> <br />Orange County 108 25-29 Regional AFH <br /> <br />Similar to the County overall, the foreign-born population is more likely to live below <br />poverty than the native-born population. <br />• In Buena Park, the overall poverty rate is lower than in the County. Similar to the <br />County overall, Black residents have the highest poverty rate. <br />• In Costa Mesa, the overall poverty rate is similar to the County and there are much <br />larger racial/ethnic disparities. The Black poverty rate in the city is over 20%, which <br />is nearly three times as high as the White poverty rate and double the AAPI poverty <br />rate. Similar to the County overall, the foreign-born population is more likely to live <br />below poverty than the native-born population. <br />• In Fountain Valley, the overall poverty rate is lower than the County. Similar to the <br />County, the foreign-born population is more likely to live below poverty than the <br />native-born population. (Note that the Black and Native American populations may <br />be too small for the sample data to be accurate.) <br />• In Fullerton, the overall poverty rate is higher than the County and is comparable to <br />the region poverty rate, and there are much larger racial/ethnic disparities than in <br />the County overall. The Black poverty rate is over 22%, which is almost three times <br />higher than the White and AAPI poverty rates. The Hispanic poverty rate is above <br />17%, which is more than double the White and AAPI rates. Similar to the County <br />overall, the foreign-born population is more likely to live below poverty than the <br />native-born population. (Note that the Native American population may be too small <br />for the sample data to be accurate.) <br />• In Garden Grove, the overall poverty rate is higher than the County and is <br />comparable to the region poverty rate. There are relatively small disparities by <br />race/ethnicity, with Black residents experiencing the highest poverty rates, and <br />foreign-born residents more likely to live below the FPL than native-born residents. <br />• In Huntington Beach, the overall poverty rate is lower than the County and the <br />foreign-born population is much more likely to live below poverty than the native - <br />born population. (Note that the Native American population may be too small for <br />the sample data to be accurate.) <br />• In Irvine, the overall poverty rate is higher than the County and is comparable to the <br />region poverty rate. Black, Hispanic, and AAPI residents experience similar poverty <br />rates, which are all higher than the poverty rate for White residents. Foreign -born <br />residents are more likely to live below the FPL than native-born residents. <br />• In La Habra, the overall poverty rate is similar to the County. Foreign-born residents <br />more likely to live below the FPL than native-born residents, and Hispanic residents <br />have a higher poverty rate than other groups. (Note that the Black and Native <br />American populations may be too small for the sample data to be accurate.) <br />• In Laguna Niguel, the overall poverty rate is lower than the County. However, there <br />are disparities between groups. Hispanic residents have the highest poverty rate in <br />EXHIBIT 6
