<br /> <br />Orange County 135 25-29 Regional AFH <br /> <br />Map 12 – Housing Problems – Lacking Complete Kitchen <br /> Source: California HCD, AFFH Data Viewer <br />The following analysis describes the differences in rates of renter and owner-occupied <br />housing by race/ethnicity. <br />Table 12 – Housing Tenure by Race/Ethnicity, shows the percentages of households that <br />are renters and homeowners by race/ethnicity, based on data from the 201 8-2022 American <br />Community Survey. The table shows that, <br />• Countywide, the homeownership rate is 56.5%, which is higher than the <br />homeownership rate in the region. There are large disparities in homeownership by <br />race/ethnicity. Black households have the lowest homeownership rate (32.4%). Less <br />than 40% of Hispanic households own their home , and approximately 42% of Native <br />households own their home. White and AAPI households have the highest <br />homeownership rates. <br />• In the Orange County Urban County jurisdictions, homeownership rates are higher <br />overall and for each group compared to the County. The same disparities in <br />homeownership by race/ethnicity exist as in the County. <br />• In Aliso Viejo, homeownership rates for AAPI, Black, and Hispanic households are <br />higher than in the County overall, and homeownership rates for White households <br />are lower. <br />• In Anaheim, homeownership rates are lower for all groups compared to the County, <br />and similar racial/ethnic disparities exist. <br />EXHIBIT 6
