Manufacturing - Property owner and <br />The City acknowledges the comment. <br />Industrial manufacturing company owner - <br />provided comments in opposition to the <br />proposed amendments to the Transit Zoning <br />Code (SD-84). No questions were provided. <br />2 <br />David Elliott, President and CEO, Santa Ana <br />The City acknowledges the comment and is providing the <br />Chamber of Commerce - provided comments <br />following clarification: <br />in opposition with the following concerns. No <br />1) Adoption of this ordinance would not disrupt small <br />questions were provided: <br />businesses. The ordinance does not force businesses to close <br />1) Impact on Small Businesses <br />or relocate; rather, would make them legal non -conforming and <br />2) Economic Stability <br />allow them to continue operating provided they comply with the <br />3) Lack of Transition or Support <br />operating standards. <br />4) Community Character <br />2) The proposed ordinance would not force any business <br />closures or relocations. Existing industrial businesses, <br />classified as legal non -conforming, may continue operating <br />until they voluntarily cease or close due to natural business <br />decisions. <br />3) Businesses can maintain their operations or adapt to <br />permitted uses under the TZC (SD-84) district. A voluntary <br />compliance agreement is a tool included in the proposed <br />ordinance for developing a transition strategy.
