Zuniga, Diana
From: Jackie Angel Investor <
Sent: Monday, June 16, 2025 8:14 AM
To: eComment
Cc: Vazquez, Benjamin
Subject: Immigration Sweeps Hit a Santa Ana Neighborhood on Father's Day
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
On Father's Day morning, federal agents detained a local man in Santa Ana's Artesia Pilar neighborhood
around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Local residents, who witnessed the detainment, told Voice of OC it happened in about eight minutes — noting
the man was a longtime resident of the area who collected cans and bottles for recycling on Sundays.
Solorzano said it falls on the community to protect itself — something that he says the recent protests are
spurring people to do.
"We are going to save ourselves, we are going to save the neighbor. Not the mayor, not a city council member.
We have to start thinking like that — like during the pandemic."
https://voiceo foc. org/2025/06/immi gration-sweeps-hit-a-santa-ana-neighborhood-on-fathers-day/
Federal agents appear at Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet
Numerous people left a Father's Day concert that was being held at the space after federal agents appeared.
Video taken from the swap meet showed several agents in tactical gear and masks detaining at least one person.
"Well, I saw they just ran in there like animals, just like if they were animals," one witness said. "They run in
there and they just run in there like if they're going to get animals out of a cage or something, you know? Like
scared."
https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/santa-fe-springs-swap-meet-immigration/3724784/
