FY 2024 Emergency Management Performance Grant <br />June 17, 2025 <br />Page 2 <br />5 <br />1 <br />0 <br />3 <br />counties and cities that maintain emergency management staff and meet training, <br />exercising, and reporting requirements. The County of Orange, Sheriff-Coroner <br />Department is the lead agency for the county. <br /> <br />In January 2025, the Police Department submitted an initial application for the FY 2024 <br />EMPG Grant and has been awarded $46,537. The Police Department will utilize this <br />funding to purchase and install one security video camera on Bristol Street to enhance <br />public safety, as well as to purchase three uninterruptible power supply units for the City <br />Emergency Operations Center. Existing Police Department funding of the Emergency <br />Operations Coordinator position fulfills the requirement for matching funds. <br />In August 2024, the Police Department was awarded FY 2023 EMPG Grant funding for <br />two security video cameras on Bristol Street. However, the security camera vendor was <br />unable to complete the project for the contracted amount. Therefore, the grant funding <br />was terminated. This new grant funding will allow for at least one new camera to be <br />installed. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The appropriation adjustment will recognize $46,537 in Law Enforcement Grants, <br />Reserve Appropriation account (no. 12814002-59011), and appropriate same to EMPG <br />Grant account as follows: <br />Fiscal <br />Year <br />Accounting Unit <br />– Account No. <br />Fund <br />Description <br />Accounting Unit, <br />Account Description Amount <br />FY 24-25 12814414-69011 <br />Law <br />Enforcement <br />Grants <br />EMPG Grant, Reserve <br />Appropriation $46,537 <br /> Total $46,537 <br />These grant funds are being recognized and appropriated in reserve appropriation and <br />will be presented to the City Council for approval of carryovers for FY 25-26. <br />EXHIBIT(S) <br />1.
