Zuniga, Diana
From: Liz Cabrera <
Sent: Tuesday, June 17, 2025 2:29 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Public Comment for Mayor Valerie Amezcua —6/17 City Council Meeting
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana.Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Mayor Amezcua,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment in your leadership and the direction our city is heading under your
watch. Your continued disregard for the safety and well-being of our undocumented neighbors—as well as the
constituents who elected you—is both disheartening and unacceptable.
The presence of ICE and military personnel in Santa Ana has created a climate of fear and intimidation. Rather than
feeling protected, many of us feel targeted and unsafe in our own community. Additionally, the aggressive response by
police toward peaceful protestors is a disturbing reflection of a leadership that seems more aligned with suppression
than with service.
At a time when our community needs strength, compassion, and advocacy from its elected officials, your silence and
inaction speak volumes. If you are not willing to stand with your community during this difficult and frightening time, I
respectfully urge you to consider stepping down so that someone who will truly represent and protect us can step
forward.
We deserve better. Santa Ana deserves better.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Cabrera
Downtown Santa Ana resident
i
