Email correspondence from The Santanero to Garcia Carvalho on June 21, 2025
SENT VIA EMAIL ON JUNE 21, 2025 8:31 AM
Hi again,
Among the several viral videos on TikTok and Instagram Reels floating right now, one of them
is of Mario Alvardo from the State of Washington. He is a "bounty hunter by trade" and
claimed that the federal government would begin to hire them to detain people under
immigration enforcement actions. His comment was made during a press conference in the
City of Sunnyside, WA on January 27, 2025, one week after Trump was inaugurated.
To watch his comment click Le-re:
t s:f/nwr. ou z.c;r»n. liv /11'U JE tat $?.i=Y>2 IUIxtII I'aE61' 5389
With that said, his comment has gone viral and has allowed for a lot of speculation among the
community on not only the legality of the bounty hunter hiring (if true), but how they detain
people that resembles kidnapping, as claimed by much of the community. Alvarado said in his
comment "they" as in the government would be willing to pay between $1,000-1,500 "per
illegal".
What are Santanero's rights? What should a Santanero do if they are approached by
someone who appears as immigration enforcement, but doesn't identify themselves? In
this case, they'd refuse to identify themselves, meaning these people could be anyone
impersonating an immigration agent, which can lead to the person missing without a
trace.
Can they call 911Inon-emergency line to report the person? What are the rules for
someone having a firearm in public? If the unidentified person is forcing the person into a
vehicle or arrest, can they fight back since the person didn't identify themselves, as
self-defense?
I tagged City Attorney Sonia Carvalho as it relates to legal issues. I would really appreciate a
response to these specific questions as soon as possible as the video continues to make gains.
Respectfully,
Daniel Diaz
The Santanero
`* END OF CORRESPONDENCE***
