EXHIBIT 3 <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> them stay on the path to graduation. <br /> We currently partner with two post-secondary institutions,providing on-campus mentoring and tutoring at <br /> Saddleback Community College and Goldenwest College.This ensures that at-risk youth remain safely <br /> housed, self-sufficient and complete their post-secondary education. We collaborate closely with school <br /> counselors that advise youth on career pathways that lead to in-demand occupations. <br /> Specific pathways that we use to ensure youth are prepared to obtain a career or occupation that provides a <br /> livable wage include assessing skills and aptitudes, conducting workshops to survey in-demand <br /> occupations, and providing work experience to build skills, gain exposure and explore future employment <br /> opportunities. In addition,we provide mentoring and tutoring for school age youth to help them establish <br /> and achieve their employment and educational goals. 100%of our mentored school age youth graduate <br /> and of those, 57% enroll in post-secondary education. <br /> Specific occupational surveys used in the SUFK OC workshops include: Bureau of Labor Statistics, <br /> Employment Development Department Labor Market Projections, and California Community Colleges <br /> OC Strong: Economic and Occupation Projections for Orange County. <br /> There are several certificates that can be earned within 1 year of exit from the program. They include: <br /> - General Education Degree(GED) <br /> - Armed Guard <br /> - Security Guard <br /> - Cyber Security Specialist <br /> See Attachment M for Letters of Intent from our partner training agencies. <br /> 8. Tutoring <br /> Youth who score 8.9 and below are considered"basic skills deficient" (from TABE or CASS). All basic <br /> skill deficient youth will receive tutoring or remedial training to improve their literacy and numeracy <br /> skills. First, we encourage all youth to complete their high school education or GED. Youth that re- <br /> connect with their secondary education may enroll in the RMTS mentoring program described above. <br /> SUFK OC employs over 100 trained mentors and tutors that help the youth achieve their educational <br /> goals, including high school graduation, obtaining a GED, or pursuing post-secondary education. <br /> In addition, SUFK OC refers youth to specific resources to improve their skills, including the following: <br /> 1)ESL classes, <br /> 2)GED programs, <br /> 3)Adult Education courses, <br /> 4)High School and Community College (college preparation classes), and <br /> 5)On-line skills courses. <br /> 9. Mentoring <br /> SUFK OC specializes in youth mentoring through two primary mentoring programs: "Journey to Self- <br /> Sufficiency" (JTS)for youth aged 18-24 (established in 2003), and"Road Map to Success"(RMTS)for <br /> school aged youth(established in 2014).The primary goal of JTS is for each youth to remain stably <br /> housed and self-sufficient at one year.
