. Administrative Plan 7/1/2025 <br /> <br />Page 7-38 <br />7-IV.B. HEALTH AND MEDICAL CARE EXPENSE DEDUCTION <br />Policies related to health and medical care expenses are found in 6-II.D. The amount of the <br />deduction will be verified following the standard verification procedures described in Part I. <br />Amount of Expense <br />SAHA Policy <br />Health and medical care expenses will be verified through: <br />Written third-party documents provided by the family, such as pharmacy printouts <br />or receipts. <br />SAHA will make a best effort to determine what expenses from the past are likely <br />to continue to occur in the future. SAHA will also accept evidence of monthly <br />payments or total payments that will be due for health and medical care expenses <br />during the upcoming 12 months. SAHA will use monthly payments or total <br />balance, whichever is less. <br />In addition, the PHA must verify that: <br /> The household is eligible for the deduction. <br /> The costs to be deducted are qualified medical expenses. <br /> The expenses are not paid for or reimbursed by any other source. <br /> Costs incurred in past years are counted only once. <br />EXHIBIT 1
