1
Ocampo, Nuvia
From:Hugo Ortega <pwrpro331@yahoo.com>
Sent:Monday, February 24, 2025 2:35 PM
To:eComments, PBA
Cc:kellyakraus@gmail.com; Ramirez, Frida; Penaloza, David; Hugo Ortega
Subject:Zoning Meeting Tonight
Follow Up Flag:Follow up
Flag Status:Flagged
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Good afternoon.

I would like to submit some pictures for tonight's meeting and would like to send you a quick highlight of points during the
presentation. The pictures will be very helpful, so please let me know if there is anything else I need to do to include them
for display.

-recycling businesses attract transients who disassemble and break down recycling materials in front of their businesses,
leaving a mess.
-the same folks also pass through our complex on trash day rummaging through our garbage containers and sometimes
leave a mess that is not picked up by trash services.
-I have seen folks actually stripping insulation off of cables. Where those cables came from, nobody knows, but this would
entice folks to steak cabling, irrigation valves and any metal components at reach, which has happened in our complex.
-the main bike path going from the train station to downtown passes right in front of the dump (last two pictures below).
This dump has a horrid smell most of the time and the line of trucks waiting to dump garbage does not lead me to believe
that anyone in their right mind would take this route downtown.
-there are trucks loading and offloading potentially hazardous waste and recycling material, making me question the
health hazard these facilities present.
-the trucks line the streets to load and offload, leaving little or no room to maneuver when passing through with a car.

Nobody likes a noisy, polluting, disrespectful neighbors who are just fixated on what is good for them (in this case, their
bottom line). I request the city council take this matter seriously and is able to make progress for the betterment of all
affected areas.

Thank you!

Hugo Ortega, MBA
25A Signal Captain (Ret.)
U.S. Army

Planning Commission 1 – 231 3/6/2025
