1
Ocampo, Nuvia
From:Tatiana Magdalena Flores <tatianmf@uci.edu>
Sent:Monday, February 24, 2025 2:55 PM
To:eComments, PBA
Subject:Santa Ana Planning Commission Meeting E-Comment
Follow Up Flag:Follow up
Flag Status:Flagged
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Santa Ana City Officials,

I am writing to express my strong support for the Proposed Project, which includes the removal of industrial
uses from the permitted uses table, updates to the nonconforming regulations, the establishment of a new
amortization process, and the elimination of the Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial suffixes from the SD-84
zoning district.

I commend the city for taking steps to prioritize the health and safety of Santa Ana residents by reducing
industrial land use in areas where people live, work, and play. This initiative represents a critical step toward
improving air quality, reducing noise pollution, and enhancing overall community well-being.

Additionally, I would like to ask the city to extend these protections to the southeastern portion of Santa Ana,
which contains a significant industrial corridor. This area exemplifies the disproportionate burden of
environmental hazards on historically marginalized communities, exacerbating health risks for children, adults,
and the elderly. Addressing these longstanding environmental injustices is essential to ensuring that all Santa
Ana residents have the opportunity to live in a safe and healthy environment.

Thank you for your leadership on this issue. I appreciate your consideration and encourage the city to take bold
action to protect the health and future of all Santa Ana residents.

Sincerely,

Tatiana Flores
---
Tatiana M.
