<br />Ordinance No. NS-XXX <br />Page 28 of 49 <br /> <br />1. Access (Direct): The physical pedestrian entrance to a unit that is provided directly <br />from the street or courtyard. Also described as walk-up access. <br /> <br />2. Access (Point): The physical pedestrian entrance to a unit that is provided through <br />a common space, such as a lobby or corridor that connects directly to the street or <br />courtyard. Also described as non-walk-up access. <br /> <br />3. Accessory Structure: An accessory structure or building is a detached building or <br />structure, or part of a building or structure, which is incidental or subordinate to the <br />main building, structure or use on the same lot or parcel of land, without cooking <br />facilities (e.g., storage shed, garage, gazebo), and is used exclusively by the <br />occupant of the main building. <br /> <br />4. Alley: An alley is any public or private thoroughfare for the use of pedestrians or <br />vehicles, not less than ten (10) feet nor more than thirty (30) feet in width, and is <br />intended for service and only a secondary means of access to abu tting properties. <br /> <br />5. Arcade: see ‘Frontage Types’ <br /> <br />6. Artisan/craft product manufacturing - limited on-site production: The manufacturing <br />of products primarily by hand by persons trained in an artistic skill, including <br />ceramics, pottery, glass blowing, or sculptures. A specialized commercial facility <br />with a retail-facing operation open to the public. Products are typically made by <br />hand or with a restricted level of automation demonstrating an artistic skill. On -site <br />production of artisan/craft product activities include design, production, <br />processing, printing, assembly, treatment, testing, repair, and packaging, as well <br />as any incidental storage. Typical artisan/craft products include, but are not limited <br />to, electronics, food products, furniture-making, beverages, leather products, <br />clocks and watches, jewelry, clothing/apparel, metal work, furniture and fine <br />woodworking, glass, ceramics, paper and paper products, soaps, perfumes, and <br />lotions, together with ancillary training and/or educational program activities. <br /> <br />7. Attic: The area found directly below the roof of a building and the ceiling of the top <br />floor. The attic shall be an uninhabitable area. <br /> <br />8. Automobile repair: Automobile repair is the repair of motor vehicles, including the <br />repair or replacement of engines and transmissions, body and fender repair, and <br />the installation of non-factory installed products except those permissible through <br />automobile servicing as defined herein. <br /> <br />9. Automobile service or Automobile servicing: Automobile service or automobile <br />servicing is the servicing and minor repair of motor vehicles, including the <br />replacement of belts, hoses, batteries, tires, shock absorbers, oil and air filters, <br />chassis lubrication, air conditioning servicing, wheel alignments, replacement of <br />brake pads, and engine tune-ups. <br /> <br />10.
