FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />Resolution No. 2024-XX <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XX <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION NO. <br />2024-09 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2312 <br />NORTH SPURGEON STREET, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2024-06 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On September 5, 2024, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2024-09) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2024-06) of the M. Jackson House located at 2312 North <br />Spurgeon Street, Santa Ana. <br />B. The M. Jackson House has distinctive architectural features of the Tudor <br />Revival style and was built in 1928. <br />C. The M. Jackson House qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of Tudor <br />Revival-style home in Santa Ana. The house displays characteristics of the <br />Tudor Revival style through its use of complex hip-and-gable roof and <br />asymmetrical façade, among other original features. The recommended <br />categorization is “Contributive” because it is a good example of the Tudor <br />Revival style and contributes to the historical and architectural character of <br />its neighborhood (Santa Ana Municipal Code, Section 30-2.3). Character- <br />defining features of the M. Jackson House include, but may not be limited <br />to: T-shaped plan; L-shaped plan; asymmetrical primary façade at the east; <br />complex roof with hipped and high-pitched gabled elements; minimal roof <br />overhang with boxed eaves; moderately rough stucco siding; brick external <br />chimney; full-height, multi-pane, wood-sash windows; tripartite focal <br />window with central fixed pane and flanking multi-pane wood sashes; <br />recessed, diamond-glazed located adjacent to the front entrance and to the <br />focal window; gables with wood-plank siding; main entrance set within in a <br />small gable and accessible by two curved concrete steps; detached garage; <br />and front yard lawn with landscaping including mature trees and shrubs. <br />  <br />    <br />
