Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2022-09 <br />and Historic Register Categorization No. 2025-03 (Exhibit 1); and <br />2. Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council <br />to execute the attached Mills Act agreement with The Robert and Alma Manson Living <br />Trust dated March 4, 2024, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City <br />Manager and City Attorney (Exhibit 2). <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />Robert James Manson and Alma Cristina Manson, Trustees, or their successors in <br />interest, of The Robert and Alma Manson Living Trust dated March 4, 2024, and any <br />amendments thereto, are requesting approval to designate an existing Spanish Revival <br />style single-family residence located at 1011 North Olive Street to the Santa Ana Register <br />of Historical Properties, as well as approval to execute a Mills Act agreement with the City <br />of Santa Ana. The property qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of a Spanish Revival style single-family <br />residence. It is worthy of “Contributive” categorization because it contributes to the overall <br />character and history of the Washington Square neighborhood and is a representative <br />example of Spanish Revival architecture in Santa Ana, including its arched entry porch, <br />clay tile roof and roof coping, and smooth stucco, among other features. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Project Location and Site Description <br />The subject property is located on the east side of Olive Street, between Washington <br />Avenue and Tenth Street, in the Washington Square neighborhood in Santa Ana. The <br />site contains a 1,204-square-foot, Spanish Revival style single-family residence and <br />detached garage on a 5,863-square-foot residential lot (Exhibit 3). <br />    <br />Historic Resources Commission 49 6/4/2025 <br />
