~ ~ COMMENTS <br />7. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />AT THiS TIME members of the public may address the Community <br />Redevelopment and Housing Commission regarding these agenda items <br />only. <br />Michael Arnot of Orange County Interface Shelter (OCIS) spoke about his <br />organization not being one of the twelve recommended for Emergency <br />Shelter Gran# funding. He informed the Commission that OCIS is not <br />based in Santa Ana; however, it is one of the few programs where families <br />throughout the area are able to obtain beds in emergencies. Staff was <br />asked to follow up with Mr. Arnat and discuss improvements to the <br />proposal from OCIS for possible funding next year. <br />Patti Long thanked staff for the ESG funding recommendation for Mercy <br />House. <br />13. STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Pat Whitaker <br />~-_' Informed the Commissioners of the March 9, 2005, informational <br />seminar from 2-4 p.m. in Room 1600 in City Hall Ross Annex for all <br />current and newly appointed City Commissioners or Board members. <br />• Called attention to the binders that were handed out to all <br />Commissioners and stated that more information will be provided <br />accordingly, <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Sarmiento on his new family addition. <br />9. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Leon <br />• Thanked staff for the binder and requested three-hole punched <br />agendas in the future. <br />• Asked for an update from the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency on future plans for bike trails in Santa Ana. <br />• Mentioned that if all goes well, a Farmer's Market will be approved and <br />located at 3~d and Bush. The Grand Opening is planned for April 20. <br />Commissioner Macres <br />• Requested that the Commission receive a total of monies for the BID <br />broken down by the five sections (Broadway to Parton on 4th, Mortimer <br />to Broadway on 4tn 3~~ to 2na from Bush to Broadway (Artist Village <br />CRHC MINUTES 6 MARCH 1, 2005 <br />
