C. Assignment to and actual performance of the duties and <br /> responsibilities of a C. S . I . <br /> D. Completion of a special training course for Crime <br /> Scene Investigators as developed and administered by the Santa Ana <br /> Police Department or such alternative course as designated for such <br /> purpose by the Chief of Police . <br /> E . Approval of the Chief of Police . The number of such <br /> designations as C. S . I . shall be no larger than the requirements of <br /> the department as determined by the Chief of Police . <br /> Section 3 . Senior Police Officer I . Any sworn, safety-member <br /> Police Officer, regardless of duty assignment, who fulfills the <br /> requirements established in this section shall be designated as a <br /> Senior Police Officer I and shall be paid at a rate set fifteen <br /> (15) salary rate ranges (7 . 5%) above his or her then current base <br /> monthly salary step. The criteria for such designation shall be as <br /> follows : <br /> A. Completion of five (5) years of municipal police <br /> experience and attainment of the "E" Step of the base salary rate <br /> range for the Police Officer classification. <br /> B . Completion (acquisition) of at least sixty (60) <br /> educational and/or training units . <br /> C. Approval of the Chief of Police . <br /> Section 4 . Senior Police Officer II . Any sworn, safety-member <br /> Police Officer who fulfills the requirements established in this <br /> section shall be designated as a Senior Police Officer II and shall <br /> be eligible to receive career incentive pay differential set forth <br /> in Subsection "B" below: <br /> A. The criteria for such designation shall be as follows : <br /> 1 . Completion of seven (7) years of municipal police <br /> experience and attainment of the "E" Step of the base salary rate <br /> for the Police Officer classification. <br /> 2 . Completion (acquisition) of at least ninety (90) <br /> educational/training units; or possession of an Associate of Arts <br /> degree from an accredited college with an additional thirty (30) or <br /> more educational/training units . <br /> 3 . Approval of the Chief of Police . <br /> B . Pay Differential : A Senior Police Officer II will be <br /> paid a career incentive pay differential at a rate of twenty-five <br /> (25) salary ranges (12 . 5%) set above his or her then current base <br /> monthly salary step . <br /> 11 <br />
