• B. Dental Insurance. The City will continue to contribute <br /> up to a maximum of twenty dollars ($20.00) per month for each affected <br /> employee enrolled in dental insurance plans provided by Association for <br /> its bargaining unit members and their eligible dependents. Any <br /> contributions necessary to maintain benefits under said dental plans in <br /> excess of $20.00 per month shall be borne entirely by the Association <br /> and/or the enrollees. <br /> C. Long-Term Disability (L.T.D.) Insurance. The City shall <br /> continue to contribute an amount toward the payment of premiums for each <br /> employee who is enrolled in the long-time disability insurance plan <br /> provided by the Association for employees covered by this Agreement in <br /> accordance with the following schedule: <br /> 1. With respect to sworn, "safety-member" police <br /> personnel, up to a maximum of forty-eight dollars ($48.00) per month per <br /> enrollee. <br /> 2. With respect to non-sworn, "miscellaneous-members" <br /> personnel, up to a maximum of forty-four dollars ($44.00) per month per <br /> enrollee. <br /> Any contribution necessary to maintain benefits <br /> under such long-term disability insurance plan provided by the <br /> Association for covered employees in excess of the amounts set forth as <br /> above shall be borne by the Association and/or the enrollees. <br /> D. Supplemental City Contributions Toward Employee Insurance <br /> Premiums. <br /> 1. The City shall increase its total contributions <br /> toward the premium costs for said health, dental and long-term disability <br /> plans by twenty dollars ($20.00) per month per employee enrolled in such <br /> plans, effective January 1, 1989, and an additional $20.00 per month, <br /> effective July 1, 1989. <br /> 2. Said additional City contributions shall be applied <br /> toward the premium costs of said insurance plans as designated by each <br /> affected employee or by the Association on behalf of each affected <br /> employee. The Association agrees that no money paid by the City will be <br /> used to fund retiree health insurance. <br /> Section 2. Life Insurance. The City shall maintain in effect for <br /> the term of this Agreement its existing life insurance plan for employees <br /> covered by this Agreement on the same basis as said plan was offered to <br /> employees as of December 31, 1988. <br /> ARTICLE XIII - RETIREMENT <br /> Section 1 - General. The terms of the existing contract between <br /> the City and the California Public Employee's Retirement System <br /> (P.E.R.S.) governing the retirement benefits of employees covered by this <br /> Agreement, as said contract was amended effective October 1981 to provide <br /> -27- <br />
