(5) Approval of the Police Chief. <br /> The number of such designations as C. S.I . shall be <br /> no larger than the requirements of the department as determined <br /> by the Police Chief. <br /> B. Field Training Officer F.T.O. (Terminal) <br /> As of the effective date of this Agreement, <br /> any such police officer so designated as F . T.O.- shall continue in <br /> said designation and continue to be paid an additional two <br /> and one-half percent (2 . 5%) (five salary rate ranges) above <br /> his or her then current base monthly salary step, until he <br /> or she is eligible for and assigned to an active higher <br /> level designation described below or until such time as he <br /> or she shall be removed from the designation of F.T.O. by <br /> action of the Chief of Police; however, no further assign- <br /> ment of police personnel shall be made to the F.T.O. desig- <br /> nations as established under provisions of the Police Career <br /> Development Program in effect prior to the effective date of <br /> this Agreement. <br /> Section 3 . Senior Police Officer (Terminal) . Any <br /> police officer designated as a Senior Police Officer prior to <br /> July 1, 1968 under provisions of the original career develop- <br /> ment program and still assigned such designation by the <br /> Chief of Police, shall be paid an additional five percent <br /> (5%) (10 salary rate ranges) over his or her then current <br /> base monthly salary step. <br /> As of the effective date of this Agreement any such <br /> police officer so designated shall continue in said designation <br /> until eligible for and assigned to a higher level desig- <br /> nation described below or until such time as he or she shall <br /> be removed from the designation of Senior Police Officer by <br /> action of the Chief of Police; however, no further assign- <br /> ment of police personnel shall be made to the Senior Police <br /> Officer designation established by Resolution of Council in <br /> October, 1964 . <br /> Section 4 . Senior Police Officer I. Any sworn, <br /> uniformed police officer, (including motor officers) who <br /> fulfills the requirements established in this section shall <br /> be designated as a Senior Police Officer I and shall be paid <br /> an additional seven and one-half percent (7 . 5%) (fifteen <br /> salary rate ranges) above his or her then current base <br /> monthly salary step.
