No employee becomes eligible for longevity vacation <br /> until completion of the sixth year of continuous service , and <br /> each employee continues to earn the maximum of ten ( 10 ) working <br /> days (80 hours) of longevity vacation for each completed year of <br /> service in excess of twenty (20 ) years. <br /> C. A period of earlier service does not apply toward <br /> longevity vacation accumulation when an employee has had a break <br /> in continuous service, unless the break in service is concluded <br /> by reappointment, as provided in Section 9-114 of the Civil Ser- <br /> vice Rules and Regulations, or by reemployment from layoff within <br /> two (2 ) years. <br /> D. Leave of absence without pay, as provided in <br /> Article XI , Section 1E (Sick Leave-Extended) and Section 8 (Auth- <br /> orized Absence Without Pay - Long Term) herein, does not constitute <br /> a break in continuous service as used in this section; however, <br /> the leave of absence period shall not be applied toward the accumula- <br /> tion of longevity vacation. Absence on military leave followed <br /> by reinstatement, as provided in Section 9-116 of the Civil Ser- <br /> vices Rules and Regulations, does not constitute a break in ser- <br /> vice, and the period of absence on such military leave shall be <br /> applied toward the accumulation of longevity vacation. <br /> -21- <br />
